लखीसराय (Lakhisarai Stampede) : बिहारमधील लखीसराय जिल्ह्यातील प्रसिद्ध अशोक धाम मंदिर परिसरात सोमवार, दि. १७ ऑगस्ट रोजी पहाटे मोठी दुर्घटना घडली. भाविकांच्या प्रचंड गर्दीत झालेल्या चेंगराचेंगरीत सात भाविकांचा मृत्यू, तर १४ जण जखमी झाल्याची माहिती जिल्हा प्रशासनाने दिली आहे. मृतांमध्ये महिलांचा समावेश असल्याचे प्राथमिक वृत्त आहे. ही घटना सकाळी साडेसहाच्या सुमारास घडली.

श्रावणातील सोमवार हा भगवान शंकराच्या भक्तांसाठी अत्यंत महत्त्वाचा मानला जातो. त्यातच हा श्रावणातील तिसरा सोमवार असल्याने अशोक धाम येथे जलाभिषेकासाठी हजारो भाविकांची गर्दी झाली होती. मंदिराजवळील अशोक धाम हॉल्ट रेल्वे स्थानक परिसरात अचानक गर्दीचा दबाव वाढल्याने परिस्थिती नियंत्रणाबाहेर गेली. मिळालेल्या माहितीनुसार, गर्दीच्या वाढत्या दबावामुळे काही ठिकाणी बॅरिकेडिंग कोसळल्याचे समोर आले आहे. याचदरम्यान वीजेचा खांब पडल्याचीही माहिती मिळाली. मात्र, वीजेच्या तारा तुटून पडल्याची अफवा परिसरात पसरल्याने नागरिकांमध्ये भीतीचे वातावरण निर्माण झाले. विद्युतधोक्याच्या अफवेमुळे नागरिकांनी सुरक्षित ठिकाणी जाण्यासाठी धाव घेतली. त्यामुळे अचानक वाढलेल्या गर्दीत चेंगराचेंगरीची परिस्थिती निर्माण झाली. त्याचवेळी जवळील रेल्वे स्थानकावर दोन रेल्वेगाड्या थांबल्याने परिसरातील गर्दीत आणखी वाढ झाल्याचे वृत्त आहे.

घटनेची माहिती मिळताच पोलीस आणि जिल्हा प्रशासनाचे अधिकारी घटनास्थळी दाखल झाले. बचावकार्य सुरू करून जखमींना सरकारी रुग्णालयात उपचारासाठी दाखल करण्यात आले. मृतांची ओळख पटवण्याचे तसेच त्यांच्या कुटुंबीयांना माहिती देण्याचे काम प्रशासनाकडून सुरू आहे.

बिहारचे मुख्यमंत्री सम्राट चौधरी यांनी या दुर्घटनेबद्दल दुःख व्यक्त केले असून, मृतांच्या कुटुंबीयांना प्रत्येकी चार लाख रुपयांची मदत देण्याची घोषणा केली आहे. जखमींना तातडीने आणि योग्य उपचार मिळावेत, असे निर्देशही त्यांनी प्रशासनाला दिले आहेत. (Lakhisarai Stampede)

पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी बिहारमधील लखीसराय येथे झालेल्या चेंगराचेंगरीच्या दुर्घटनेबद्दल दुःख व्यक्त केले. त्यांनी या दुर्घटनेतील जीवितहानीबद्दल शोक व्यक्त करत, पीडितांच्या कुटुंबीयांप्रती संवेदना व्यक्त केल्या.“बिहारमधील लखीसराय येथे झालेल्या चेंगराचेंगरीत झालेल्या जीवितहानीमुळे मला दुःख झाले आहे. या दुःखद प्रसंगी माझी सहानुभूती पीडित कुटुंबीयांसोबत आहे. स्थानिक प्रशासन पीडितांना आवश्यक ती मदत पुरवत आहे,” असे पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी म्हटले.

दरम्यान, चेंगराचेंगरी नेमकी कोणत्या कारणामुळे सुरू झाली, याचा तपास सुरू आहे. त्यामुळे बॅरिकेडिंग, गर्दीचा वाढलेला दबाव, विद्युत घटनेची शक्यता आणि रेल्वे स्थानकावरील अचानक वाढलेली गर्दी या सर्व बाबींचा तपास करण्यात येत आहे. तपास पूर्ण झाल्यानंतर दुर्घटनेचे नेमके कारण स्पष्ट होण्याची शक्यता आहे.
