भाजप आमदार नवनाथ बन यांनी शपथविधीवर टीका करणाऱ्या शिवसेना (उद्धव बाळासाहेब ठाकरे गट) नेते संजय राऊत यांना प्रत्युत्तर देत घटनात्मक परंपरेचा दाखला दिला आहे. “शोक असतो, पण घटनात्मक जबाबदाऱ्या थांबत नाहीत,” असं स्पष्ट मत नवनाथ बन यांनी व्यक्त केलं. राज्यकारभार आणि प्रशासन अखंड सुरू राहणं आवश्यक असल्याचं त्यांनी सांगितलं. दरम्यान, संजय राऊत यांनी, “अजूनही महाराष्ट्र अजित पवारांच्या जाण्यातून सावरलेला नाही,” असं म्हणत शोककाळात शपथविधी घेणं अयोग्य असल्याची भूमिका मांडली होती. यावर प्रत्युत्तर देताना नवनाथ बन यांनी इतिहासातील उदाहरण पुढे केलं. “अंत्यसंस्कारांआधी किंवा त्याच दिवशी शपथविधी झाल्याची उदाहरणं यापूर्वीही आहेत. हे काही नवीन नाही, ही घटनात्मक आणि राजकीय परंपरा आहे,” असं नवनाथ बन म्हणाले. त्यांनी स्वर्गीय इंदिरा गांधी यांच्या हत्येनंतरचा प्रसंग आठवून दिला. “१९८४ मध्ये इंदिरा गांधींची हत्या ज्या दिवशी झाली, त्याच दिवशी राजीव गांधी यांचा पंतप्रधान म्हणून शपथविधी झाला होता. देशाच्या स्थैर्यासाठी तो निर्णय घेण्यात आला होता. संजय राऊत यांनी राजीव गांधींचा शपथविधी आठवावा,” असा सवालही बन यांनी उपस्थित केला. (Navnath Ban)
