कुकुटा : (Colombia plane crash) कोलंबिया आणि व्हेनेझुएलाच्या सीमेवर असलेल्या नॉर्टे दे सँटान्डर प्रांतात बुधवारी २८ जानेवारी रोजी दुपारी झालेल्या भीषण विमान अपघातात १५ जणांचा जागीच मृत्यू झाला. ‘सॅटेना एअरलाइन्स’च्या फ्लाइट क्रमांक ८८९५ या प्रवासी विमानाचा अपघात झाला असून, हे विमान कुकुटा शहरातून ओकाना शहराकडे जात असताना लँडिंगपूर्वीच एअर ट्रॅफिक कंट्रोल (ATC) शी संपर्क तुटला आणि काही वेळातच विमान दुर्गम डोंगराळ भागात कोसळल्याची माहिती समोर आली. माध्यमांवरून मिळालेल्या माहितीनुसार, या विमानात एकूण १३ प्रवासी आणि २ क्रू मेंबर्स प्रवास करत होते. अपघात इतका भीषण होता की विमान पूर्णपणे उद्ध्वस्त झाले असून कोणाचाही जीव वाचू शकला नाही. घटनेची माहिती मिळताच स्थानिक प्रशासन, बचाव पथके आणि सुरक्षा दलांनी घटनास्थळी धाव घेतली. मात्र डोंगराळ आणि दुर्गम भाग असल्यामुळे शोध व बचाव कार्यात अडथळे आले. काही तासांच्या शोध मोहिमेनंतर विमानाचे अवशेष सापडले आणि सर्व प्रवाशांचा मृत्यू झाल्याची अधिकृत माहिती देण्यात आली.
