देशातील हिंसाचाराच्या घटना अतिशय दुर्दैवी- पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी
मुंबई : दिल्लीतील जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया विद्यापीठातील विद्यार्थ्यांनी नागरिकत्व सुधारणा कायद्याविरोधात काढलेल्या मोर्चात हिंसाचार करत दिल्लीतील बस, खासगी वाहने, दुचाकींची जाळपोळ करण्यात आली. आग विझवण्यासाठी आलेल्या अग्निशमन दलाच्या चार गाड्यांवरही हल्ला करण्यात आला. या आंदोलनादरम्यान विद्यार्थी, पोलिस आणि अग्निशमन दलाच्या जवानांसह १०० हून अधिक जण जखमी झाले.
दरम्यान सोमवारी या आंदोलनावर पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी ट्वीट करत नागरिकत्व कायद्यावरून होत असलेला हिंसाचार दुर्दैवी आहे असे म्हटले. चर्चा आणि विरोध हा लोकशाहीची मुल्य आहेत परंतु त्यामुळे सामाजिक मालमत्तेचे नुकसान होऊ नये, असेही त्यांनी म्हटले. ‘या कायद्यासंदर्भात कोणत्याही भारतीयांना काळजी करण्याची काही गरज नाही. हा कायदा फक्त त्यांच्यासाठी आहे ज्यांना बाहेरील अनेक छळ सहन करावा लागला आहे आणि त्यांना भारत सोडून इतर कुठे स्थान नाही’, असे ही ते म्हणाले.

Debate, discussion and dissent are essential parts of democracy but, never has damage to public property and disturbance of normal life been a part of our ethos.
I want to unequivocally assure my fellow Indians that CAA does not affect any citizen of India of any religion. No Indian has anything to worry regarding this Act. This Act is only for those who have faced years of persecution outside and have no other place to go except India.

कॅबविरोधात आंदोलनाला लागलेल्या हिंसक वळणाविरोधात केलेल्या याचिकेवरील मंगळवारी सुनावणी होणार आहे. आंदोलनादरम्यान झालेल्या हिंसेवर सुप्रीम कोर्टाने नाराजी व्यक्त केली असून आंदोलनात सार्वजनिक मालमत्तेचे नुकसान होत आहे आणि हे सहन केले जाणार नसल्याची तंबी सुप्रीम कोर्टाने आंदोलक विद्यार्थ्यांना दिली आहे.
